Strolling and Struttin in Balboa Park, San Diego

Hey Badass Babes and Gents! 😉

I can’t believe we are still talking about my first solo trip to San Diego months after it has passed. Honestly, the days have just been flying!

This post is dedicated to my visit to San Diego’s Balboa Park–a popular destination if you want to be immersed in the rich art and culture found in San Diego. This park is huge — 1,200 acre! I was fortunate to tour this beautiful place with photographer and Honey Wasden!

I chose 3 outfits for my stroll at Balboa Park. The first outfit I wore was a $15 off-shoulder stripped knit dress from Ross, paired with a cap from Steve Madden, $9 lace choker from Rite Aid (haha!) and booties from Alice and Olivia.

This outfit is perfect for a date at the park; or in my case, a self-date as I enjoy the my first solo visit to Balboa Park. The cap gives a casual feel and the lace choker provides a very feminine touch…and the booties well, added badassery 😉

You may have seen the Alice + Olivia booties from my previous shoots – I just love how I can pair it with so many outfits. The best part? They are in mint condition and I’ve had them since December of 2009!!!

The second outfit I chose is a crop top from a local boutique in Pasadena. I was so lucky to have found this on the clearance rack–almost certain I got it for less than $10! I paired it with my trusted high-waisted black plain leggings from 90 degree by reflex and sneakers!

I did some yoga poses on the organ pavilion stage and around the area. Love how this outfit is a mix of fun and flirty!

The last outfit is just a bikini top paired with high waisted jean shorts and a plain white visor! A casual outfit to finish our stroll at Balboa Park’s Spanish Village Art Center on a warm afternoon. 🙂

I love how colorful and artistic this little area is. The “houses” you see behind me are all small art galleries/shops! 🙂

I spent the day at Balboa Park but did not have a chance to see it a night which was heavily recommended to me. Oh well, I’ll save that for a date night 😉

Overall, my first visit to Balboa Park was fantastic. I will be checking out the Japanese Garden next time and maybe get a Henna tattoo! 🙂

As for my collaboration with Honey, she was incredible. Her professionalism really impressed me –from the scheduling of the shoot to the final exchange. She handled it with such grace. I definitely recommend her and would love to work with her again in the future.
